European Ribbing

Ribbing is our specialty here at Wattle Hill Fabrics!

We carry a vast range (300+ items!) of high quality, European-made ribbing; quality is essential in ribbing to ensure its functionality.

Good quality ribbing will stretch out well... & most importantly recover well to its original position - this is vital for the success of your garment.  

For example, a ribbing neckline will stretch easily over the head, but then return to its original size & shape that was sewn onto the garment - so it sits correctly once the garment is on. Ribbing is by far the best product for your cuffs and bands on your knit basics - it is designed precisely for this use and will do a superior job rather than a ribbed jersey knit or a cotton jersey knit. Sewing it on is also quite easy, it handles well in the machines!

Ribbing & Ribbed Jersey knit are 2 different types of fabric & not to be confused with each other. Ribbing is designed specifically for cuffs & bands whereas Ribbed Jersey knit is a lighter weight knit & designed for the main body of a garment.

Care Instructions

This Ribbing is sold in a continuous length by the increments of 10cm (1/10 metre).

For example:

Qty 1 = 10cm x fabric width

Qty 2 = 20cm x fabric width
