Where is Wattle Hill Fabrics Based?

We are located in beautiful Brisbane, Queensland.


Can I come and visit you?

Everyone loves visitors - especially when they bring afternoon tea! However, we are an online business only and are not setup for retail.


What about local pick-up?

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer a local pickup service - even if you do bring afternoon tea.

How does your fabric pricing work?

All our products are priced in Australian Dollars and include GST.

Mostly our fabrics are sold in increments of 50cm (1/2 metre) lengths which are cut as a continuous piece.

For example:

If you enter a quantity of 1, you have ordered 50cm of fabric.

If you enter a quantity of 2, you have ordered 1m of fabric.

If you enter a quantity of 3, you have ordered 1.5m of fabric.

If you want 4m of fabric, you will need to enter a quantity of 8.


Please note however, our elastic & pom pom is sold by increments of 1m lengths or some elastic is sold by the roll.

Each product description includes information around how that product is sold, so be sure to check it out if you are unsure.


What is GOTS & Oeko-Tex Standard 100?

Wattle Hill Fabrics proudly offers a wide range of quality fabrics, of which a large selection is manufactured to certain world recognised standards. Below is a short description of each standard.


The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) was developed through collaboration by leading standard setters with the aim of defining requirements that are recognised world-wide. These standards ensure the organic status of textiles, from harvesting of the raw materials, through environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing, up to including product labelling in order to provide credible assurance to the end consumer. The STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® is a worldwide, consistent, independent testing and certification system for raw, semi-finished, and finished textile products at all processing levels, as well as accessory materials used. Textiles labelled this way are proven to remain below the set limit values of certain harmful substances. Find out more here.


Where can I find washing/care instructions?

Awesome question! We want to help you get the best from your new fabrics and knowing how to care for them is a great way to make that happen!

Each product description includes the recommended care to be taken when washing that specific product. We also recommend prewashing your fabrics before use and be sure to use a colour catcher with your bold coloured prints, especially with our organic ranges.


What payment methods do you accept?

We accept payment via Visa, Mastercard, American Express, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, ZipPay, PayPal Pay in 4 and Bank Transfer (Direct Deposit).

Details for Bank Transfer (Direct Deposit) payments can be located on the invoice sent to you via email once your order has been placed. Once your payment has been made, please let us know by replying to the email your invoice was sent with, so we can prepare your order for dispatch. Please note orders will not be dispatched until payment has been made in full and funds have cleared.


Can I order samples?

We currently don’t offer samples……. but watch this space !!!


Can I hold my order/combine my orders?

Currently we are unable to combine orders or hold orders for later dispatch.


Opps – I forgot something. Can I add to my order?

Things move pretty fast around here, and your order may already be cut, packed and dispatched before we are able to change it. Please get in touch with us asap, and we will try and help if possible.


How long before I will receive my order?

We know how exciting it is to get fabric mail and we want you to receive your parcel of sewing goodies as soon as possible. That’s why we pick, cut, pack, and ship your order as fast as we can. We aim to dispatch all orders within 2 to 3 business days (most often it is sooner than that); however, during peak times that may be extended.

Please allow 3 – 7 business days for delivery after dispatch (longer during peak times and delivery to remote areas). Please note local public holidays may affect delivery time.


Wattle Hill Fabrics is a family business, and we are occasionally closed for holiday breaks. Details of any closures will be available on our website.


Can I track my order?

You sure can! We will email you once your order is dispatched, including the tracking details, so you can keep up to date with its expected delivery.

No worries – we offer a Priority next business day dispatch service and shipping via Express Post within Australia. Find out more here.


Where do you ship to?

We currently ship within Australia and New Zealand. Find out more here.


How much is Shipping?

We offer a flat rate of $9.95 for shipping within Australia and a flat rate of $19.95 up to 5kgs within New Zealand.

Express Post within Australia is a flat rate of $14.95 up to 5 kgs.

Do you offer free Shipping?

We sure do! All Australian orders over $225 will automatically receive free shipping. Hooray!


Something is not quite right?

Can I return my order?

We are pretty darn sure you’ll be skipping all the way to the sewing room once you receive your order!

We don’t offer returns on our cut fabrics or products unless they are faulty in some way.

If that’s the case, please get in touch and we’ll gladly make it right.

Please note, colours may vary from your screen to real life. We do our best to show the true colour of a product by using real life photos taken in natural light. We do not offer returns on a product because they may have appeared a different colour on your screen or monitor.


Can I cancel my order?

Unfortunately, cancellation due to change of mind is not available.

Under special circumstances, an uncut order may be cancelled at our discretion. In this event, the total refunded will be adjusted to include payment for commission and processing fees charged by the payment provider used in the original transaction.


What about my Privacy and Security?

We appreciate your business and take your privacy and security very seriously.

We never pass your personal information on to third parties.

All your account pages, including your checkout pages, are secured by 256-bit secure socket layer (SSL) technology, so you can shop with confidence.

Is there such a thing as having ‘too much fabric’ in my fabric stash?

No. You can never have too much fabric. Even when your fabric cupboard is bursting, and you can’t close the door. There is always room for more. Happy Sewing!


What are the chances my overlocker will be threaded with the correct thread the next time I go to use it?

Not looking good my friend. This is the unicorn of sewing, so if it does actually happen, make sure you celebrate appropriately with the happy little dance this occasion deserves!
